R&B Singer, and member of Xscape, LaTocha Scott, had a law firm send a legal notice to Live Nation Entertainment and Monami Entertainment (Mona Scott Young) claiming they did not get her consent, nor did they agree upon the financial terms for the use of the mark or to discuss her performance.
About the rights to Xscape. Last year, on the Queens of R&B reality show, we learned about a lot of the drama the ladies had in the group. Years ago, Tamika said that she and her sister LaTocha, had heard that Kandi and Tiny were trying to get the rights to the Xscape name by filing for the trademark. Though, it fell through. After hearing that, Tocha then told Tamika that they should file for it. Except, Tocha didn’t have the money to pay for it. Therefore, Tocha asked her sister Tamika to foot the bill for the trademark. In return she would pay the money back to Tamika. Which according to Tamika, her sister never did pay back.
Kandi said she didn’t really have anything to do with it. Tiny’s mother Diane, on the other hand, said that they were going to file for the trademark. And then put Tiny and Kandi’s name on it. Kandi recalls that it did go through. But they didn’t renew it, at renewal time. Even though, Tamika recalls that it fell through the first time. Either way, the bottom line is that Tamika had told Tocha later on that they needed to add Tiny and Kandi’s name on there. Despite that, Tocha only added Tiny’s name on there. And of course, Tamika told her that she wasn’t right for that.

she posted something about Trademarks. And I'm sure this was a message directed right at her sister Tocha. Basically, letting her know, that she doesn't believe that her sister Tocha has a led to stand on. When it comes to Tocha trying to sue Live Nation Entertainment and Monami Entertainment (Mona Scott Young). The suit is claiming they did not get her consent, nor did they agree upon the financial terms for the use of the mark or to discuss her performance.
Despite that, and other scandals we learned about on the Queens of R&B show, Tamika had a great message regarding family. A message, which I am fully in agreement with. Tamika spoke about how a lot of people within her family and bloggers, followers, and trolls, kept asking her, how could she expose her sister and her brother-in-law about money.
In response Tamika said, “Well why would your family steal from you? Why do our people, because of family sweep things under the rug? If somebody steals from you or molest you or beat you or some other horrible thing, we were taught to sweep it under the rug? Because of the ole saying, “What happens in this house stays in this house”. If family ain’t acting like family, then we have to get out of that black people. We have to get out of that stigma that we have to be loyal and protect those who don’t protect us”.
